Prof. Yingcheng Sun and his graduate students Supriya Kottam, Sony Annem, and Kevin Hayes, along with undergraduate students Jackson Astraikis, Robby Martin, and Andrew Van Es, have published three papers at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (IEEE Big Data 2025). IEEE Big Data is a leading international conference that brings together researchers and practitioners to advance the theory, methods, and applications of big data analytics.
These publications address key challenges in multimodal artificial intelligence, trustworthy data-driven systems, and healthcare-focused analytics, including error-aware clinical text-to-SQL generation, explainable multimodal learning, and flexible fusion of heterogeneous biomedical data. One of the papers originated from the CSC 490 capstone project completed by the three undergraduate students, which is a successful translation of undergraduate research into a peer-reviewed publication.
