This summer, Dr. Sanjoy Kundu, Visiting Assistant Professor in UNCG’s Department of Computer Science, taught robotics and coding to Guilford County Schools teachers through the Deloitte Smart Factory Believers Institute. The program was held in the Moore Humanities and Research Administration Building on the UNCG campus.
Dr. Kundu introduced participants to the fundamentals of Python programming and guided them in applying these skills to a hands-on robotics project. The teachers programmed and controlled Raspberry Pi–powered rover robots, bringing their code to life through movement, sensing, and control.
The institute equipped educators with practical and engaging activities they can bring into their classrooms, helping students understand how software and hardware work together in real-world engineering and technology applications. Dr. Kundu’s work at the institute was also highlighted on the front cover of the News & Record!
