Best Paper Award at the CATA 2022 Conference

Professor Shan Suthaharan and his student Aishwarya Gouru received a best paper award in the 37th International Conference on Computers and Applications (CATA 2022) for their paper entitled “Facial Emotion Characterization and Detection using Fourier Transform and Machine Learning.” One of the comments from the reviewers stated that “The theory is sound and the presented method is a novel approach to classifying emotion in image data, which is a hard problem.” The full paper that is published in the peer-reviewed conference proceedings can be found at https://easychair.org/publications/paper/B1Sz.
