Kopper and Grandi Won Best 3DUI Contest Award at IEEE VR 2023

We are proud to share that Interactive Realities Lab (director: Prof. Kopper) in our department won the Best 3DUI Contest Award at the IEEE VR 2023 event. This year’s theme was “Metaverse Privacy – Authentication Using 3D User Interfaces.”

The team developed a continuous authentication method for XR that utilizes an authentication device to generate vibrotactile time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) for initial authentication. Additionally, it constantly evaluates the user’s movements to ensure the session remains connected.

The VR conference is widely recognized as a leading event in Virtual, Augmented, and Extended Reality and HCI. This achievement is the result of the hard work of the research team at the Interactive Realities Lab, including our dedicated students Jerry Terrel, Carlos Ruiz Valencia, and Kadir Lofca. Congratulations to the entire team!
