Our Computer Science PhD student, Supriya Kottam, has been awarded the 2025 Dorothy Munroe Student Research Fund to support her research. The CAS Office of Research is pleased to inform her that her application has been granted in the amount of $1,000 to support her research with Dr. Yingcheng Sun. Supriya is addressing the challenge of enabling non-technical users to generate SQL queries. While many existing tools require schema expertise or function as opaque “black boxes,” their work introduces a multi-agent LLM framework that integrates natural language and visual interfaces, making query generation more transparent, usable, and controllable.
We are also excited to share that Dr. Qianqian Tong, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, has received funding from the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Undergraduate Scholars: Advancing Knowledge Through Research and Creative Collaboration Program for her proposal “Designing a Framework to Approximate Gradient Episodic Memory for LLMs.” This award will fund an undergraduate research assistant position at $15/hour for up to 10 hours per week during the Spring and Summer 2026 terms. The RA will gain hands-on experience while contributing to cutting-edge research in large language model continual learning.
Congratulations to Supriya Kottam, Dr. Yingcheng Sun and Dr. Qianqian Tong on these prestigious awards. Their recognition highlights the strength of research and mentorship in the Department of Computer Science, and we look forward to the exciting outcomes of their work.
