Mohanty Received Award from Google TensorFlow to Develop Machine Learning Course

Assistant Professor Dr. Somya Mohanty has recently been awarded funding from Google TensorFlow team to support his joint effort with Prof. Evan Goldstein of Geography Department at UNC Greensboro to design, develop, and teach an undergraduate/graduate level machine learning course. The proposed course title is “Urban Environmental Sensing with TensorFlow Lite and TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers.”

The education program from Google is to support course developments that include examples with TensorFlow and other open-source libraries. Such supports include instructions toward practical, in-demand skills, and to prepare students to solve new and challenging problems using machine learning.

Congratulations, Prof. Mohanty!
